What to Expect on Sunday

It’s a big deal visiting a new church for the first time. You may wonder:

Do I belong here?

Am I really welcome?

Will the people be too friendly or not friendly enough?

Will I stand out?

Will they ask me for money?

Will my kids enjoy it?

How should I dress?

Can I come if I’m not sure what I believe?

At CAOG, we want to make your visit a great one – easy, straightforward, and uncomplicated. We are loving church for everyone regardless of their background. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect:

Showing up

When you arrive at (114 Weaver Dairy Rd Chapel Hill) for our 10:30 am, service, you’ll find ample parking with a greeter at the door to assist you as needed. If it’s your first time, let the greeter know and they will make sure you fine seat that suits you and give you a first time visitor’s package!

You will notice that everyone is dressed comfortably in everything from Sunday casual to jeans. So “come as you are!”

Through the doors

Service begins with prayer and upbeat music led by our worship team (drums, guitars, keyboards, vocalists) followed by a welcome and greetings. Don’t worry, we don’t make you stand and introduce yourself! You can meet Pastor Mike after service. Then you can ask any questions and find out the vision of CAOG and the ways in which God is blessing our church family.

The sermon is designed to be Biblically based, relevant to daily life, interesting, and enjoyable. It is scripture driven, often including interesting ideas from contemporary culture, events, songs, or multimedia presentations to further expand the message of the day.

At the end of service, you should have experienced solid Christian teaching that was understandable and relevant. Our mission is to provide everyone who walks through our door a genuine transformational experience of God. In addition, we want you to experience community and friendship, and we trust you will find genuine warmth and openness at CAOG!
