Where do I
begin? It takes only one
person to begin, but as the writer of Ecclesiastes (4:9-12) says, "Two are
better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls
down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to
help him up! Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord
of three strands is not quickly broken."
1. Start praying for God to
bring you a prayer partner, or a small group of individuals who are
participating in the 21 day fast.
2. Designate a specific time to pray
together, over the phone in the evening is a good time. Consider meeting during
a lunch period if your prayer partner or group work together.
3. Begin
with 15-30 minutes of prayer time. Set a time target and finish at that time.
Keep an eye on the time. Remember, this time will be spent in having a
conversation, reading scripture and praying. Dont spend all the time in
just one area. Stay focus and in balance. Expand that time of prayer as you are
able and as you begin to sense a need to pray longer.
4. Pray for God
to add prayer partners to your group.
5. Dont pray in other
tongues unless the other person is Spirit filled and pray in other tongues.
